Over the course of John Ross Palmer’s career as a professional artist, he has helped Houston and national charities and nonprofit organizations raise hundreds of thousands of dollars through the generous donation of his time, his high-profile promotion of events and most importantly his valuable original artwork. Because of the current value of Palmer’s original artwork and to protect the investment of the dedicated collectors that prize acquiring from him, since 2019, it has been gallery policy to no longer make donations of original artwork. There are no exceptions.
However, we believe that our current standard donation to assist in nonprofit fundraising is actually far superior. We enjoy donating a Private Painting Party for 10 to be hosted by John Ross Palmer himself at his exclusive Historic Heights Gallery & Studio. The package, which has a retail value of $1,000, includes a magical evening at the gallery where guests enjoy wine, champagne, delicious bites, a first-class art complex tour, instruction and lots of laughter with Artist John Ross Palmer, free-time for shopping and the opportunity to win a medallion for being named Artist of the Night. Everything is handled by the gallery and that includes all of the painting supplies and aprons.
We wrap up in the donation in a nice bow that includes a book, paintbrushes, a photo array of prior painting parties, designer tickets and an artist apron. It’s almost ensures a successful bid during your event’s live or silent auction.
Artist John Ross Palmer keeps a busy schedule. Because of his work, personal and philanthropic commitments, the gallery can only donate one Private Painting Party per quarter of the year. Individuals can also acquire a Painting Party for any size group through our online store.
Please note that during this time we are happy to donate Private Painting Parties but we are not currently scheduling them during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
As mentioned before, definitely keep in mind that John Ross Palmer Palmer created his Charity of the Year Program in 2011 to move away from giving piecemeal donations to events and auctions. These powerful partnerships with Outreach United (2011), Heifer International (2012), Writers in the Schools (2013), the League of Women Voters (2014), the Lone Star Veterans Association (2015), Houston Habitat for Humanity (2016), the H.E.A.R.T. Program (2017), the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work (2018), Trees of Hope (2019) and The Women’s Home (2020) have amplified his level of giving by focusing the very large majority of his time, donation dollars and promotion to a single cause per year. However, exceptions can be considered. And, out-of-state exposure for Palmer is welcomed and appreciated.
